We want our Academy kids to always strive for progression. We help them achieve this with experienced, inspirational teachers as well as skill ribbons, parent days, showcase shirt, and even a free DVD of their June performance!
Our teachers not only dress modestly, but also teach modest movements using music with conservative lyrics in all classes.
We know our families are extremely busy, yet they still want to give their child the chance to perform for family and friends. We combine our picture and dress rehearsal day to save you time.
Small Class Size
Our class size is smaller than other studios because we believe in individual attention. We have individual goal sheets to track your child’s progress to ensure they are progressing quickly. We want your child to have the very best educational experience.
Not only do we allow make ups, but we allow you to make up your missed class in ANY class. Maybe try hip-hop or tumbling! Get your full tuition value.
Our dance studios have a professional floating floor which means is not mounted into the walls, therefore floating, to help give a spring like experience for injury prevention. We also have a dancewear store on site. We keep every size shoe and tights in stock for your convenience.
New to dance, it can be over whelming how many different styles of dance there are to choose from. Listed below are descriptions for our dance classes. If you are still not sure, feel free to stop in and check out our classes. We have one way observation windows for you to check out everything we have to offer.
Parent & Tot:
This fun class is for children age 2-3 along with Mom or Dad. This is a great introduction to dancing for children just developing their coordination. The teacher guides the parent/tot team in a way that makes discovering movement, balance and listening skills easy and fun. This class is an excellent first group activity. This is a 30 minute class.
This class is for ages 3-4. It is an introduction to ballet. The primary goal is to foster a love of movement. The creative component is quite large. Several fun or special activities happen in each class. For example, a ribbon or maraca dance at the end can facilitate the dancer’s own physical expression. Taking part in dancing out a narrative helps children to understand that dancing is expression. It is a means of communicating feelings and actions. The vocabulary covered in this class are all steps which a 3-4 year old can master and build self-confidence.
This class is for students with little or no tumbling experience. Class is designed to help categorize the fundamental tumbling skills. You will learn things such as back bends, cartwheels, somersaults, etc. This class provides the basics for all tumbling skills. This class is also featured in our optional performances.
Classes include barre and center floor work. Ballet is the foundation for several different types of dance. In this class each dancer will focus on turn out, discipline, balance, grace, coordination, and most importantly, confidence. With the knowledge from the exercises taught in ballet, a dancer can and will use these techniques in other forms of dance.
This class is all about making music with your feet. Dancers will learn basic steps such as heel drops, shuffles, time steps, etc.
This class is the ever evolving dance form full of rhythm and syncopation. During class you will be taught isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet and arms and encourage individual expression and the development of personal style. The class will include across the floor, barre work, while dancing to the music of today together with the classical jazz of yesterday.
Our 45 or 1 hour acro class will teach gymnastics moves specifically for our dancers. More and more dance routines are displaying gymnastics and we want to give our dancers that advantage. Does not perform in recitals.
This class is a combination of ballet and jazz. Lyrical is a very expressive type of dance. Dancers use emotion and passion to tell a story while dancing to the music. Lyrical uses techniques from ballet, and at the same time showcases a strong interpretation of the music selection as it does in jazz.
Merging styles from funk, street jazz, pop ‘n lock, and even breakdance. This type of class is very similar to what you see in music videos. They dance to the latest rap, hip-hop, or R&B music. The dress code in this class is different then all other classes. The students are free to wear loose dance clothing (jogging pants, loose shirts) that allows them freedom of movement. They are allowed to wear tennis shoes, but they must be clean. They need to wear different shoes to class and change when they get to the studio.
This class uses sharp, precise movements to usually a fast tempo style of music. Poms emphasizes uniformity and utilization of pom pons for maximum visual effect. In class each week, the dancers work on jumps, leaps, turns, motions and sharpness.
