Classes resume Friday, April 21st from our spring break. We will have class on Friday, April 21st AND Saturday, April 22nd due to parent requests from years prior. If you cannot make it to class on this day, we understand.
As we head into spring, APA is already thinking about summer and fall classes. We officially open summer registration on April 1st. When we say don’t wait too long to register, we really mean it. The first 100 people to register for our summer 6 week session will receive a FREE APA beach cooler. Our fall schedule will be available for registration starting on May 1st.
One of my favorite events is our Father/Student dance that we perform at our June showcases. This is a free event and we hope to get as many dads involved! (If dad isn’t available, feel free to invite your uncle, grandpa, etc.) We will have free classes at APA for you to bring dad and learn the dance OR we will send out the video link in the May newsletter for you to learn on your own. Save the Date: Friday, May 5th APA will be hosting a Mother/Daughter Painting Party at our Oak Creek location at 5:30pm! Tickets are $40 (price includes mom and one child under the age of 18). Together you’ll paint a beautiful image that you can take home as a keepsake. This event is appopriate for daughters of all ages! Light snacks and a beverage will be provided. APA Students of the Month:
Music Student: Congratulations to AJ Garrity, our April Music Student of the month. He shows up every week for his music lesson on time and eager to learn! He is a very dedicated and hard-working piano student. If he has mastered his song for the week, he will start to teach himself the next song. AJ works hard, never misses a lesson, practices every week, has a great attitude and is a great role model not only for his peers, but for fellow APA students. Congratulations AJ, and keep up the good work!
Dance Student: Congratulations Cadence Ceparski, our April Dancer of the Month. Cadence is an assertive young lady with great self-awareness and an insatiable thirst to continually honor and better herself and her passions. Cadence looks forward to all of her dance classes every week. She has the utmost respect for her teachers, friends and family. She is always telling those in her life how much she appreciates the things that are done for her. Cadence is a positive role model and a mentor at school and to her friends. She constantly makes sure those around her feel included. She is passionate about many anti-bullying campaigns and has stood up for friends and classmates who have felt bullied. Cadence has great attendance for dance and has perfect attendance this year at school. She maintains a 3.8 GPA and recently advanced to the 7th grade math curriculum, more than a semester ahead of her peers. Congratulations Cadence, we are proud to name you the April Dancer of the Month!
Upcoming APA Trips: This past October APA invited all families to visit NYC to experience the city and the art experiences it has to offer. We have decided to offer this every other year for our families that are interested. Our next tentative trip would be in October 2018 so families have time to save and plan accordingly. Details will not be available until December 2017. For team students only, please remember that our milestone anniversaries will always include a group performance team trip. This would happen in spring 2020.

Summer Classes Monday, July 10th- Saturday, August 19th: Schedules are available now! CLICK HERE to view the full schedule and register!! Our summer session is 6 weeks long. Registration opens April 1st ONLINE ONLY. Over the phone and in person registration will be available starting April 11th. Online registrations are our preferred method of registering so you can complete everything in full. Current music students have been given hand-outs in class regarding their current time slot to see if they want to continue for summer.
RACE TO REGISTRATION: Everyone who registers ONLINE for GROUP DANCE CLASSES from April 1st-10th will be entered into a drawing to receive free items (tuition credits, attire etc.), and the first 100 students that register will receive our APA beach cooler bag.
Why Register ASAP???
- Better chance of your class being full or canceled due to low enrollment. We need at least 5 students enrolled in each class.
- As a thank you for registering early and helping us with our schedule, you can pick up your FREE APA beach cooler by May 15th. (limited to first 100 students!)
You can pick up your beach cooler anytime from April 11th-May 15th. We will also notify you via email on April 11th about our prize drawing.
Fall Schedule – Registration opens ONLINE ONLY May 1st. In person/over the phone registrations begin MAY 11th.
Music Spring Recital -Our Music Recital will be held on Sunday, May 21st at the Oak Creek Salvation Army starting at 1pm. We will have multiple acts and will announce the times in May. It is located at 8853 S. Howell Ave. in Oak Creek. This is a beautiful and newly renovated space that seats up to 400 people. This is a free event for students and any friends or family. Please feel free to invite as many guests as you would like. The recital will be about 1 hour in length per act. Teachers will only be attending certain acts. If you have not informed your teacher that you will be participating, please let them know ASAP! Performance orders will be emailed out by MAY 15th.
Parent Observation Week May 1st-May 6th: We invite parents to come and sit in the classroom to see what your child has been working on in all dance, music, and acting classes. We will have enough chairs for each child to bring 2 people. If you choose to bring grandma or grandpa please bring additional chairs. If you have a younger child that can be disruptive to the class, please watch outside of the classroom through our observation windows.
Optional Kringle Fundraiser – Earn money towards summer or fall tuition: We are doing a fundraiser through Racine Danish Kringle. Order forms will be available at our front desk. We have had people make over $300 in profit from this fundraiser alone. Order Form Due Date – Monday, May 1st. All late orders handed in will receive $10 off of your profit! Wherever you drop off your form is where you need to pick up! Please make sure you have everyone make out their check to you, and then you need to make one check out to APA. We will not order your fundraiser without payment. It would be in your best interest to collect payment as people place orders. Profits will be in your account before May 15th! (Pick up dates are listed on the fundraiser)

Dance Assistant Applications: If your child is going to be 10 years old by September 1st and is interested in assisting dance next year, please click here to download, print and complete an assistant application. All applications are due no later than May 15th. A class assistant is required to take a ballet class. For every two 2 hours of class they assist per week, they receive a monthly $41 tuition credit. Please keep in mind the more flexibility and availability you have, the easier it is to schedule. Click Here for assistant application.
Showcase Costumes: We use the same costumes from our winter show for our spring show. If you would like to participate in our spring showcase, a costume is required. If you have not ordered a costume yet, please see the front desk ASAP to see if your costume is still available. Our last group order was already placed. If you are interested in ordering, please account for a $10 shipping fee.
Video of Recital Dance: If you would like to record your child’s dance(s) for the Spring Showcase to practice at home please do this the week of Parent Observation Week IN CLASS, May 1st– 6th. APA will not be recording the classes for Showcase.

Showcase Routines: Now that we are getting closer to our June 16th and 17th Showcase, held at the South Milwaukee High School PAC, each class will be working on their new dance starting in February. They will still be working on technique, across the floor combinations, jumps and turns. If your child is not participating in our show, they will still learn the dance, and will be strategically placed in formations so we do not have any gaps during the performance.

Please remember it is very hard for us to get siblings to perform together. We run an enrollment report from families that register prior to June 15thand prioritize in the order that you register.
